Statement by Lebanon at the Sixth Session of the Conference on the Establishment of a Middle East Zone Free of Nuclear Weapons and Other WMD

Lebanon condemned Israel’s aggression against several regional states including Lebanon and using the region as testing ground for its weapons. The statement questions the ability to achieve progress on establishing the zone amid the current unfavourable circumstances globally and in the region citing Israel’s positions including refusal to join the Non-Proliferation Treaty. Lebanon warns that international security is deteriorating due to nuclear modernization and great powers tentions.
