Statement by the OPCW at the Fifth Session of the Conference on the Establishment of a Middle East Zone Free of Nuclear-Weapons and Other Weapons of Mass Destruction

The OPCW reviews the capacity-building measures it has carried out in the region and provides an update on the status of verification activities in Iraq and Syria. It examines the challenges that technological advancements pose to the implementation of the CWC, along with the measures taken to address them, some of which have been undertaken with the assistance of Middle Eastern countries.
