Statemen by Sudan at the Fifth Session of the Conference on the Establishment of a Middle East Zone Free of Nuclear Weapons and other WMD

Sudan expressed its concern over the escalating circumstances in the Middle East, including the Israeli threats to use nuclear weapons against civilians. Such actions demand accountability and create urgency for the establishment of a WMDFZ. Sudan emphasised the need for collective international action to promote dialogue and cooperation in achieving the universality of non-proliferation instruments, such as the NPT, particularly through Israel’s accession to it. The state also acknowledged the conference's role in facilitating discussions on fundamental issues.
