Statement by Tunisia at the Fifth Session of the Conference on the Establishment of a Middle East Zone Free of Nuclear Weapons and other WMD

Tunisia condemned the threats of using nuclear weapons by a member of the Israeli government and remains convinced that diplomacy plays a pivotal role in addressing WMD issues. Israel’s refusal to accede to non-proliferation instruments obstructs the establishment of an ME WMDFZ. Tunisia reaffirmed the right of peaceful use of nuclear energy and calls for respecting the objectives of the UN Pact for the Future in freeing the world from nuclear weapons
