Statement by Israel at the 72nd session of the General Assembly on all disarmament and international security agenda item

The statement raises concerns about activities of terrorist organizations in the Middle East and the support they receive from some states as threats to regional security. It calls on the countries of the region to combat all acts of terrorism. The statement highlights several concerns in the region, including Iran’s missile program, Syria’s use of chemical weapons as confirmed by OPCW, and the proliferation of conventional weapons. The statement also refers to Israel’s position on cybersecurity and TPNW. In Israel’s view, the establishment of a comprehensive security architecture in the region is not possible without dialogue among the countries of the region and direct engagement with Israel.
