Statement by Qatar at the 4th session of the conference on the Establishment of a Middle East Zone Free of Nuclear Weapons and other WMD

The statement supports the statement given by Oman on behalf of the GCC. Qatar expresses its support for the conference and the establishment of an ME WMDFZ. The statement emphasises Qatar’s position on justice for the Palestinian people and the establishment of an independent state in line with the 1967 borders. The statement expresses disapproval of the statement made by the Israeli minister regarding dropping a nuclear bomb on Gaza. The statement views such a statement as an admission of Israel’s nuclear capabilities. Qatar calls on the conference to take reasonable steps towards the establishment of a free zone in the region to achieve progress.
