Statement by Kuwait at the 2nd Session of the Conference on the Establishment of a Middle East Zone Free of Nuclear Weapons and Other WMD

The statement expressed the success of the first session and Kuwait's commitment as the president of the second Session to adopt an open and inclusive approach to the conference. The statement highlighted the importance of Israel accession to the NPT in achieving an ME WMDFZ and expressed their disappointment in Israel's lack of political will to do so. It emphasises the subjecting all nuclear facilities and programs to the comprehensive safeguards of the IAEA, is non-negotiable.
