IAEA Forum on Experience of Possible Relevance to Creation of a Nuclear-Weapons-Free-Zone (NWFZ) in Middle East

The IAEA organized a two-day forum to learn from the “Experience of Possible Relevance to the Creation of a Nuclear-Weapon-Free-Zone (NWFZ) in the Middle East”. The forum looked at different regional contexts and approaches to succesfully establish NWFZs. Forum participants included Mr Yukiya Amano, Director General of the IAEA, and representatives from states in the Latin American and the Caribbean NWFZ, South Pacific NFZ, Southeast Asia NWFZ, African NWFZ, Central Asian NWFZ, EURATOM, and ABACC.
