Statement issued by Israel at the Signing Ceremony of the Chemical Weapons Convention

Israeli foreign minister Shimon Peres underlined Israel's support for the Chemical Weapons Convention at the treaty's signing ceremony in 1993. Mr. Peres outlined the steps nescessary to progress regional dialogue on peace building, security, and arms control in the Middle East. Mr. Peres also called for discussions on joint regional inspection mechanisms.
