UN Secretary-General’s report concludes that prospects for establishing a Middle East nuclear-weapon-free zone have become more promising due to the ongoing peace talks
In his report, which was prepared as requested in UN General Assembly resolution 47/48, the UN Secretary General concluded that the prospects for establishing a ME NWFZ were more promising now (at the time the report was issued) and that the process should run in parallel with the “broader aspects of peace settlement” in the Middle East.
